How to fix the acoustic shelf

How to fix the acoustic shelf

Tuning the car, many motorists install big speaker systems with heavy loudspeakers. However in the majority of the machines ""regular"" the acoustic regiments are made of thin plastic, and therefore cannot just sustain the weight of the new equipment. It is necessary to strengthen regiments.

It is required to you

  • - CHIPBOARD;
  • - polyurethane foam;
  • - liquid nails;
  • - rubber plait

Instruction

1. Dismantle the available shelf and take measurements of it. You are interested in length and flange width, its depth and all available deepenings.

2. Cut out from the sheet chipboard to the taken measurements the similar shelf, but without deepenings. On their place cut through openings. Chipboard can replace with polyfoam plates, however, in that case perhaps some "skradyvaniye" of sound.

3. Insert the ""regular"" shelf into the received preparation. At you the shelf with the double basis has to turn out: plastic over chipboard. In places of fastening of loudspeakers put rubber sealant which will record columns.

4. Connect chipboard and the shelf removed from the car by means of polyurethane foam or liquid nails. From above put heavy load and leave everything for couple of days to stiffen. Construction knife cut off excess foam. As option you can use fastening by corners.

5. When the design dries, install loudspeakers. Insert them into cuts from the inside (the party sheathed by chipboard), and from above put on metal rim which will fix the loudspeaker and will hide joint between the region of the shelf and grid of the loudspeaker.

6. Before establishing the strengthened shelf in the car, lay rubber plait on shelf contour, he will allow design to get up more densely into place and will not allow ""to jingle"" at the movement. If necessary the plait can also be pasted on liquid nails.

7. In order that the shelf rose (under it, for example, there can be spare wheel), establish it on normal continuous loops.
