Methods of fight against mealy dew depend on two factors – stages of infection and the area of the damaged area. - Whey and iodine. One liter is fresher than some whey to mix with ten drops of iodine, to pour in the received mix in ten liters of water. To use for spraying of leaves and stalks of rosary with interval of 7-10 days.
- Baking soda and soap. To dissolve baking soda in number of 40-50 grams and 50 grams of the crushed laundry soap in 10 liters of water. Solution to process leaves and stalks of plants. To repeat in week.
- Garlic and water. To place the crushed fresh garlic (80 grams) in the enameled ware, to fill in with 10 liters of water and to bring to boiling on average fire. Broth to cool, filter through gauze or small sieve and to use for spraying of stalks and leaves of roses.
That processing has brought the maximum result and has not done much harm to flowers, it is necessary to follow several simple rules. First, it is necessary to spray bushes in the evening, previously having cut off and having destroyed the damaged leaves and buds by burning. Secondly, for each spraying it is necessary to do new solution or broth. And, thirdly, processing is carried out in several stages before total disappearance of fungus.
Chemical medicines against mealy dew
If national ways have not rendered due effect, it is necessary to save rosary with use of chemical means. For treatment of fungal diseases of plants there are special medicines – fungicides.
Among fungicides most often use system medicines (Kvadris, "Is fast", "Baktofit", Fundazol, "Topaz", Fundazim) and biofungicides – "Fitosporin-M", "Alirin-M", Gamair and Planriz. The second option is more preferable as does not render negative environmental impact. It is necessary to know that biofungicides have slightly smaller efficiency in comparison with 100% chemical means and demand more frequent application.
Certainly, it is simpler to prevent emergence of mealy dew on roses, than to treat it. Therefore to avoid rosary infection, it is important to observe simple prevention: to regularly examine plants, in time to eliminate weeds, to follow technology of cultivation and to carry out preventive processing.
