1. One of the most available and popular "national" ways of de-scaling of the electric kettle is use of citric acid. Everything becomes very simply. Fill teapot with the maximum allowed amount of water and add 3-5 grams of citric acid there. Boil and give to water to cool down then properly wash out teapot for removal of residues of acid. If from the first procedure the scum was removed not completely, repeat boiling, do not achieve desirable result yet.
2. For hostesses whose electric kettles have thick layers of scale, other way of cleaning will approach. For a start mechanically remove scum by means of abrasive cleanser, having accurately rubbed teapot walls, spiral or heating coil. For disposal of the remained scum fill teapot with water with weak solution of vinegar and boil. Then leave water inside for 15-20 minutes. From scum there will be no trace left also! For elimination of smell of vinegar boil in teapot clear water 2-3 times. If layer of scale not really thick or you are afraid to make mechanical impact on electric device interiors, just try to boil water with vinegar.

However it is necessary to remember that similar means contain large amount of chemicals which can remain then on walls and heating coils of teapot and get with boiled water into stomach.
