Slugs treat Gastropoda to mollusks, they have the spindle-shaped body covered with light watery slime. All species of slugs of mnogoyadna, but they have certain flavoring preferences. Usually wreckers choose beans, haricot, cabbage, carrots, beet, eggplants and cucumbers.

1. The main sign of damage by slugs of plants and fruits is the white, quickly stiffening slime which they leave behind. The habitat of wreckers and their behavior depend on the level of humidity and air temperature. In the afternoon they usually hide under leaves, in cracks of old boards and the soil, and after sunset when air becomes more cool, mollusks creep out of the shelter and begin to look for forage.
2. For protection of plants from defeat by slugs it is necessary to mow grass in ditches and other crude places on the site. In small squares it is possible to bring together wreckers manually in the afternoon, catching them from under leaves, burdocks, old boards, etc. Experienced gardeners have noticed long ago that slugs do not transfer parsley smell. Therefore for fight against mollusks advise to plant this plant on all perimeter of the site which needs to be protected from attacks.
3. In rainy summer the slugs can become the real disaster for kitchen garden, in that case it is possible to use special medicines for their destruction. These beings are extremely resistant to intestinal poisons therefore they usually apply to fight against slugs superphosphate, slaked lime, potash salt.
4. Superphosphate needs to be crushed and dried carefully. To spray ready powder over beds late evening when slugs show the greatest activity. For protection against wreckers of separate plants it is possible to surround bushes of vegetables with peculiar "rings" from potash salt or slaked lime. These substances, adjoining to surface of slugs, cause in them irritation and allocation of large amount of slime. Repeated processing (in a day) of the site these chemicals causes, as a rule, death of most of the wreckers weakened by the previous loss of slime.
