Or opposite option - you have just got new mattress and, having unpacked it, have felt inexpressible "aroma". How to get rid of smell in mattress?

1. Unfortunately, rather often new mattress has pungent, unpleasant smell. It and is clear - as a rule before getting to you to the house, it was stored long enough sealed in polyethylene in warehouse, in the conditions far from ideal. To get rid of smell in just acquired mattress will not make big work. Before using new acquisition, it is necessary to unpack it and to take out for 3-4 days on loggia or balcony. Most likely, during this time the smell will completely disappear.
2. Baking soda will help to get rid of smell in the old, served several years mattress. This mineral has the good cleaning properties and ability to neutralize unpleasant aromas. Put on rubber gloves. Fill thick layer of soda and accurately distribute it on mattress surface. Leave for day. It is necessary to consider that damp soda neutralizes smells much more effectively, than dry. But it will be much more difficult to clean it from mattress. Remove soda from mattress at first by means of dry rag, and then - the vacuum cleaner. Estimate results of the work. If the unpleasant aroma remained - repeat the procedure. For the same purposes it is possible to use water solution of white vinegar.
3. For removal of especially persistent "acquired" smells - for example, smell of cat's urine - it is possible to use ammonia solution. Prepare structure for processing. For this purpose take capacity and mix 1/2 glasses of ammonia solution, 1/2 glasses of hydrogen peroxide and 2 glasses of warm water. Put on rubber gloves and carefully process spot the received solution by means of clean rag. Wash the polluted place with clear cold water by means of sponge. Get wet with dry towel. Dry mattress in the sun.
