Arugula is the spicy grass of nut and mustard taste which is popular with gourmets and supporters of useful power supply. On beds this grass often perishes because of wreckers who can destroy the first escapes of arugula for only a few seconds. And here on windowsill it is quite simple to grow up it.
It is required to you
- Arugula seeds (types solitaire and poker best of all will be suitable for windowsill)
- Long pot with openings for draining or drainage pallet
- The soil (any soil will be suitable for seedling or color cultures)
- Haydite
Instruction
1. For a start it is necessary to carry out heat treatment of the soil. For this purpose there is set of ways, I use the following. We place slightly humidified soil (about 0.5 kg for time) in glass capacity and we send to the microwave for 4-5 minutes. Then we cool the soil to room temperature.
2. On bottom of pot/box we pour out haydite layer about 1-1.5 cm. We pour out the soil over haydite, about 6-8 cm. We humidify the soil. We do small deepenings at distance of 3-4 cm from each other to note where we will spread seeds. We display on several seeds in each deepening, we powder with soil layer (about 1 cm), slightly we condense and we humidify from spray. To cover pot with polyethylene film and to put to the dark place to the first shoots. Every day it is necessary to humidify slightly the soil from spray. The first shoots at me have appeared in 3 days.
3. As soon as there are sprouts, it is necessary to remove film and to put plant on well lit place. The soil has to be constantly damp!
4. Week later.
5. 2.5 weeks later.
6. In 40-45 days arugula can begin to be eaten.
