For this vegetative season the escape will reach about 1 meter in height.
The next year, carry out cutting in the early spring, having truncated escape approximately on ¼. Leave 3-4 upper kidneys for growth, remove the others as they will slow down further growth. Then by the end of summer on future berry tree 3-4 escapes will be created. And the next year once again carry out cutting, having truncated these escapes (so that their bases had about 3-4 kidneys). Thus you completely will create skeletal branches of future tree of red currant.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to grow up blackcurrant tree as it needs the frequent rejuvenating cutting when it is necessary to delete completely all branches 4-5 years are more senior.
Forming of treelike form (shtamb) will take more time gooseberry. At first it is necessary to prikopat in the spring the chosen branch of uterine bush that it has taken roots and has given layer. And in the fall this layer together with root should be separated accurately from bush and to put on the constant place. To put, look after plant and to form future tree it is necessary as well as in case with red currant.
For cultivation of kryzhovenny tree it is better to use large-fruited, resistant to the most dangerous diseases (first of all, mealy dew) grades.
For berry trees pick up places where they will look especially beautifully, effectively. Surely choose such place which will be the ideal environment for growth of plants, for example, some trees cannot transfer bright sun. Except red currant and gooseberry, it is possible to grow up trees of felt cherry, honeysuckle edible and some other cultures.
