1. It is pretty difficult to find seeds of cotton in flower shops. However if you appear in Central Asia (or there live your family and friends), to receive seeds – not problem. It is necessary to take them several days in wet fabric, and then it is desirable to put in big capacity in deep box as roots of cotton go to the earth on depth not less than 30 cm. Depending on look the bush of cotton grows to 0.5 - 3 meters and forms large number of side branches.
2. Cotton should be put on windowsill as this plant needs a lot of light. It is the best of all to put cotton in the spring. The flowers similar to hollyhock will quickly grow and by fall will blossom. For the second year, cotton will be dismissed since spring. In several weeks after blossoming on rigid wood stalks there will be seed boxes "decorated" with silky cotton wool. Depending on grade and conditions of cultivation on box of cotton there can be short and long hairs or only long.
3. On plantations cotton grows in arid hot climate and demands a lot of water. In house conditions it should be watered as soon as soil begins to dry up (it is especially abundant – during blossoming). Fertilizers can be used same, as well as for the majority of houseplants. In general cotton easily adapts to soil conditions.
4. Cotton diseases most often develop in summertime. For fight against fungi and wreckers (web tick, green slepnyak, cotton plant louse and others) it is possible to use mix of garlic, pepper and soap. Cotton quietly winters at window.
5. It is worth trying to land cotton on the site. It is recommended to place it in the place protected from wind in well loosened earth "in the company" with peanut and to it similar cultures that allows to saturate the soil with nitrogen and other nutrients. It is necessary to delete weeds in time and to periodically cover cotton with polyethylene film.
