Cultivation of cowberry in garden – business not troublesome. It is possible to place plant practically on any site. The main thing is to create for this berry the conditions approximate to its environment of dwelling – to forests and swamps.
It is required to you
- - sawdust, shaving, bark, straw, sand, etc. (for mulching);
- - superphosphate and sulfate potassium;
- - Bordeaux liquid;
- - dandelion infusion, tobacco and onions peel.
Instruction
1. The bed for cowberry has to be in the flat and light place near water. Best of all the plant grows and fructifies on the peat or sand-peat soil. After definition of the place of landing deeply plow beds and carefully remove all weeds from the earth. Especially diligently pull out roots – they most often strongly disturb berry. Before landing fertilize soil double superphosphate and sulfate potassium.
2. Garden grades of cowberry make multiple copies shanks and escapes. Plant young plants from containers with earth lumps. It is better to do it in the spring (closer by the beginning of May) when the soil thaws and will get warm. Place bushes at distance not less than 25 cm from each other. After landing water the earth around each plant for consolidation and mulch – powder with sawdust and shaving (instead of them it is possible to use bark, needles, the crushed straw and also gravel and sand).
3. Cowberry which roots are close to earth surface does not take out either stagnation of water, or drought. 1-2 times a week are the best of all to spray berry, and during heat – in addition to water leaves with cold water.
4. Cowberry can suffer from bugs-listoyedov and listovertok. Collect insects manually or spray berry bushes with infusions of onions peel, tobacco and dandelion. Besides, cowberry can ache ekzabazidiozy (escapes and flowers turn pink and swell) and rust (leaves become covered by red and brown spots). Cut off unhealthy parts of plants and burn, and sprinkle the remained bushes one-percentage solution of the Bordeaux liquid or its substitutes.
