If you like exotic plants, you can grow up from stone date palm tree at home. It is possible to receive date from stone, but it is necessary to be ready at once to the fact that this tree will please you only with the decorative leaves. The dates which are grown up in house conditions do not give fruits.
Instruction
1. For acceleration of germination of the stone of date having firm cover it needs to be placed for two days in thermos where the pure, a little warmed up snow water is poured. It is good if you add to this water of a little natural biostimulant of humate of sodium. In two days the stone needs to be shifted in the closed capacity with damp peat dust, hydrogel or wet sawdust and to leave for one and a half months near the electric heater that temperature of 30-35 °C remained.
2. In 3-4 weeks it is necessary to check whether the seed has dried up. At emergence of tiny shoots the stone at once should be replaced in pot 10-12 cm high with damp mix of the cespitose earth, the peat and sand taken in equal parts. It is better not to stick the sprouted stone to the earth, and to put horizontally, down section, having powdered with the earth on 3 cm.
3. After that you should not hurry to rearrange pot with stone on windowsill. It is better to place it in transparent plastic bag and, it is dense it having tied, to put to the warm place, for example, in kitchen near plate.
4. Optimum temperature for emergence of shoots of date palm tree – 20-25 °C. The most important that plants received maximum of light and stood closer to glass.
5. The young plant up to 3 years should be replaced annually, then – 1 time in 5 years. The palm tree very painfully reacts to traumatizing root therefore change is done by transshipping method with former earth lump. It is necessary to plant plant in deep cone-shaped pots. Put two-centimetric haydite layer of drainage, wood charcoal or moss on bottom of pot.
6. Earth mix for date palm tree has to consist of the cespitose, sheet soil and sand in equal volumes. It is possible to force plant out into the street in the summer - under krone of young apple-tree or at the entrance to the house.
7. If plant insects wreckers – plant louses begin to attack, web pincers or lozhnoshchitovka, the palm tree needs to be sprayed with strong insecticide.
