First place in the rating of raw materials for preparation of fragrant tea is won by mint and melissa. They are vitamin-rich, have medicinal properties and are suitable for cultivation in house conditions.
Cultivation of mint in house conditions
Mint is made multiple copies in the vegetative way. In the first half of fall cut shanks or dig out mint bush with roots and lump of the earth. This lump needs to be knifed so that in each share there were 2-3 escapes with roots or kidneys. The separated parts or shanks should be landed in pots with a diameter about 10 cm.
Stack drainage on bottom of capacity, and then fill up the moistened mix from part of the garden earth or two parts of humus. Roots of plants have to be in the earth, and elevated part is cut at the height of 5 cm over surface.
For acceleration of process of growth of leaves the put mint is placed as it is possible closer to light.
Plants need to be watered with regularly settled water of room temperature. It is desirable that it constantly was in pallet as mint prefers air humidity about 80%. It is also useful to spray leaves periodically. When mint takes roots, and leaves will begin to grow, it is possible to carry out one fertilizing by urea solution (on 1 liter of water of 1-2 g of urea). As a rule, feed up plant at the end of September. Do not carry out by winter of fertilizing, renew them in February when the sun appears.
How to grow up melissa
On seedling it is necessary to sow melissa seeds at the beginning of March. For this purpose in the container with ready soil mix (by one part of peat, the cespitose earth and humus) in grooves of 0.5 cm in depth it is necessary to lay dry seeds and to spill warm water. Before emergence of shoots the soil needs to be sprayed every other day. Shoots appear in 8-10 days. It is necessary to plant seedling during the period from April 25 to May 5. Seat plants at distance of 12 cm one from another. 3 times a week water melissa. When plants reach 20-25 cm of height, and buds will appear, they should be prishchipnut, having prevented blossoming. Side branching will be so increased, and for the summer period it will be possible to cut off greens 2-3 times.
When the plant reaches height of 40-50 cm, it is cut off together with stalk, leaving 10 cm. Thus the splendor of bush of melissa will be increased several times.
Melissa is not afraid of cold weather therefore it is possible to leave it on loggia or balcony before late autumn cold weather. Further cultivation is continued on windowsill. At the same time together with earth lumps from box place in each flowerpot on 1-2 plants. Fertilizing is not necessary to plant. For this purpose it is possible to use weak tea and infusion of egg shell for watering.
