Instruction
1. It is necessary to pave the way under future landing since fall. For this purpose in the earth are brought: manure humus of 5 kg, superphosphate of 1 tablespoon, nitrophoska of 1 h l, swept 2 tablespoons. On spring the soil needs to be dug over and watered well if it is insufficiently damp.
2. On each bed it is necessary to make 2 - 3 crests with distance in 30 cm and 15 cm high. In two weeks prior to landing of pilferers to warm up near the battery or the furnace within 8 hours. It will secure harvest against mealy dew, strelkovaniye and decay.
3. Before landing it is necessary to remove peel which protects from diseases from onions, but, being in the earth, allocates to the soil of substance, slowing down growth of bulbs. To cut off dry part of neck at each bulb and to lower in warm water for 24 hours for soaking.
4. At the beginning of May if sunny days allow, we start landing of bulbs in crests at distance of 12 cm from each other. Pilferers to deepen on 2 – 3 cm, and around it densely to press the earth hands closer to bulb. In 14 days onions it is necessary to feed up solution of bird's dung. If weather in the first month was given hot, follows 2 – 3 times are abundant to water pilferers and also to regularly loosen and remove weeds from bed.
5. In June it is necessary to open bulbs, otgrest from them the earth, having made that equal row-spacings. The sun will warm up and to dry bulbs entirely, preventing removal of larvae of onions fly. Open bulbs quickly expand in width and get the flattened form.
6. In dates of June it is necessary to make the second fertilizing, but already at the roots. It is possible to use mineral or organic fertilizers. A month before harvesting of onions, it is necessary to carry out scarification. It is worth remembering that it is necessary to stop watering of crests with onions in three weeks prior to cleaning.
7. It is necessary to reap onions crop in the first half of August, considering favorable days according to the lunar calendar. If not all bulbs have managed to grow, harvesting can be postponed until the first of September. It is important not to postpone harvesting of onions and to make it in time that it has not begun to sprout.
8. If it has turned out to be late with cleaning, and onions have sprouted, it is necessary to cut off root and feather of bulb, and to singe collum over flame. Such onions are suitable in food and will be long stored, but for distillation you should not use it.
