Pepino – perennial plant which belongs to family of nightshade family. In the people it is called "melon pear". Fruits have characteristic melon taste, about 200-800 grams weigh on average. But there is also one problem which arises in the course of cultivation pepino, - fruits do not manage to grow ripe in the open ground. For this reason it is better to grow up this plant in house conditions.

1. Choose grade pepino. Usually in the market it is possible to meet only two types: Ramesses and Consuelo. Ramesses is a little better than the fellow as is less susceptible to change of temperatures, fruits grow larger.
2. Buy seeds or shanks of plant. If you take pepino layer, then look that on it not less than 5-8 leaflets were obligatory, otherwise he will not take root. To grow up seeds not absolutely conveniently as plants turn out weaker.
3. Put shank pepino in water and wait until it has roots. After that replace it in small pot. If you have decided to grow up melon pear from seeds, then seed them in in advance prepared earth, and from above cover with cellophane. Shoots will appear approximately in 15 days.
4. Maintain indoor temperature about 28 degrees. With it is pepino the best of all to place capacity on southern or on southeast side of the house. Periodically water landings, but you watch that there was no surplus of moisture.
5. As soon as pepino grows up, tie up it. Melon pear grows in several stalks, but if you want fruits to manage to grow ripe, leave one trunk. Throughout growth pepino periodically delete stepsons, they only extend useful substances and slow down process of forming and growth of fruits.
6. Slightly shake plant trunk when you see that it has blossomed. It is necessary for pollination and forming of ovaries. Be careful, you should not apply too much force, otherwise you will break pepino.
7. After maturing of fruits and their collecting the plant needs rest. Move away him to the room in which air temperature about 10 degrees keeps. During this period also the shadow is necessary. Approximately in 2 months return pepino to standard conditions that it was preparing for fructification again. On average in year 2 harvests manage to ripen.
