Portulak – the beautiful annual plant quite widespread in decorative gardening. Small terry and semi-terry flowers with a diameter of 2-4 cm with orange, yellow, cream, white, red or pink coloring of nimbus. Small leaves, next, greenish-gray coloring, covering entirely the site on which grow. It is not difficult to grow up portulak independently if to conform to the simple rules and recommendations.
Instruction
1. Make landing of seeds in April-May, at the same time you should not close up them deeply. Take care of indoor temperature, the viability of sprouts directly depends on it. The ideal atmosphere for cultivation of seeds – 30-35 degrees. Thus, for the 4th day of crops you will have boring. You remember: portulak warm is also photophilous.
2. Pave the way for landing of portulak. Ideal substrate consists of 30% of fine gravel and sand, 70% of the nutritious soil (organic fertilizers and peat) and add wood charcoal a little. At first fill capacity with sand, having mixed with gravel. Then fill up the nutritious soil. It is possible to get all components for substrate in specialized shop.
3. Do not forget to look after crops. It is necessary to water sprouts of portulak through pallet not to damage yet not strengthened plant. You watch closely the soil, it should not dry up at all. As portulak it is photophilous, have capacity with sprouts better on well lit windowsill, or provide additional illumination to plant.
4. To the open ground portulak replace after the termination of frosts when weather is established warm and solar. It is good if by this moment on plants is till 12-15 leaflets. In the first days after disembarkation take care of regular watering of sprouts.
5. Portulak it is not obligatory to grow up on the open ground. The plant perfectly grows on the balcony, in small tanks. The only condition – the good illumination and mild climate, with temperature not lower than 20 degrees. If the balcony is not glazed, then during heavy rain remove plant to the enclosed space better. Also portulak it is possible to grow up on windowsill in the room, at well lit window. But in this case blossoming will be not so abundant.
