Strawberry – tasty and choosy berry which demands to itself special care. Sweet berry is source of vitamins and microelements, promotes strengthening of vessels and increases immunity. The beginning gardener should choose grades resistant to wreckers and to diseases, intended for landing in that area where they will grow. At right choice of grade and leaving it is possible to receive big crop of this berry.
Strawberry yields good harvest on the chernozem, the loamy and sandy soil. The place intended for planting of plant has to be solar and equal. Crops of seedling in lowlands and places of congestion of melt waters are not allowed, at such landing the harvest is received small and sick. It is better to place strawberry separately from vegetable cultures and to replace each 4-5 years.
Bushes of strawberry have to have live backs of 3-5 cm, top kidney and 4-5 leaflets, without signs of diseases and damages. It is recommended to plant bushes in the second half of July, in the evening, in the processed and fed up soil. Do small pole, plant bush and powder with the earth, condense, then water at the rate of 500 ml on each bush. It is necessary to cast plants within 7 days, will not take root yet. After watering the loosening, in order to avoid crust on the soil is necessary. Interval between plants of 15-20 cm, between beds of 50-60 cm.
Strawberry during blossoming needs pollination. For attraction of bees it is possible to use spraying by honey water (1 tsps of honey dissolve in 1 l of water).
Water strawberry as required, usually early in the morning, with warm water. The best method of watering – overhead irrigation. It is necessary to weed plants, to delete mustache and to loosen beds. Do not forget to feed up strawberry and to monitor appearance of diseases and wreckers. Delete old bushes-barren flowers. You do not hold bushes more than 5 years, it leads to decrease in productivity.
Mulching by sawdust or needles helps plants to breathe and increases productivity.
Autumn leaving consists the turned yellow leaves, application of fertilizers (compost, peat), abundant watering and the shelter straw, agrofibre or film at a distance.
At low-snow winter it is necessary to cover with snow layer beds not less than 20 cm.
At emergence of the first green leaflets in the spring, it is necessary to remove the shelter, to remove yellow leaves and to clear beds of weeds. Plants it is necessary to feed up organic fertilizers, for acceleration of growth of young escapes. Processing by copper vitriol for prevention from wreckers is recommended. To carry out the first watering at the end of April – the beginning of May water with temperature not lower than +15 degrees, later it is good to porykhlit. Processing of berries should be finished prior to blossoming. At emergence of berries, it is necessary to water between grooves that berries have not begun to decay. Delete mustache during emergence and growth of berries.
