Lambrequin (from fr. lambrequin) is short decorative finishing of window in the form of soft drapery or strictly tense wide tape. It is placed just before portieres and gives them esthetic completeness. Basic purpose of lambrequin – creation of the finished composition of window and masking of the bearing fastenings of eaves or assembly string.

1. There is huge number of models and types of lambrequins, beginning from the simplest, plain panels in tone to the main curtains, and finishing with difficult designs from the heavy, draped fabrics with flounces, brushes and other art elements.
2. Independently it is not difficult to hang up lambrequin, the main thing to do everything accurately and to conform to the rules. First of all it concerns lambrequin length. It is considered that in rooms with low ceilings the lambrequin is inappropriate as it visually conceals floor-to-ceiling height. In fact it not so. Correctly picked up length and color of fabric will not reduce room height.
3. Correctly to calculate length of lambrequin it is necessary to separate height of portieres into 6 parts mentally. 1/6 heights will also be required size. In general by means of change of length and height of lambrequin it is possible to change visually window proportions, doing it above, already for visual perception.
4. The easiest way to hang up lambrequin is to fix it on versatile aluminum eaves, equipped with velcro from outer side. Such way is convenient for classical portieres. At the same time the lambrequin successfully closes eaves and creates complete image of registration of window.
5. The outdated eaves can be disguised easily by means of lambrequin, having just thrown it through eaves and having draped with beautiful folds. The difficult (combined) lambrequin requires eaves with multirow fastenings on which also curtains will be fixed.
