It is not surprising that the good draft is one of the main criteria of quality of furnaces. However even the good furnace after some time of operation can begin to smoke. In this case it is necessary to find the reason of deterioration in draft and to eliminate it.

- – fine wire;
- – oven brick;
- – clay;
- – bricklayer's tool.
Instruction
1. Eliminate all slots in the furnace – on perimeter of furnace door and pig-iron plate, between openings in plate and their covers. If the plate and covers have cracks or considerable deformations, replace them new. Cover cracks in brickwork with clay. Do not open podduvochny door too widely – especially at kindling. It can cause smoking.
2. Usually the draft of the furnace decreases with current time. It is caused by the fact that on walls of flues the soot narrowing their gleam and worsening draft is besieged. In this case it is necessary to clean pipe and channels of the furnace. For cleaning of pipe it will be required to manufacture simple adaptation. Define approximate distance from edge of chimney to the top smoke latch. Take the wooden rail having length, it is not less established value. Drill opening with a diameter of 3-5 mm in its end.
3. Reel up on the end of rail fine wire in the form of digit 8. For this purpose miss each round of wire through opening and alternately bend around it rail with one, on the other hand. The eights size has to be such that it passed in pass of pipe closely to its walls. As a result the ruff for cleaning of pipe has to turn out.
4. Get on roof and clean the made ruff pipe, repeatedly lowering and lifting him at all length of flue. During cleaning rotate rail around axis.
5. Remove the soot showered when cleaning pipe and which has collected in channels of the furnace from the furnace. Correctly put furnace has the special prochistny doors serving for cleaning of channels. However furnaces in which they are absent meet. In this case there will be no nothing else left how to make openings most.
6. Define general lay-out of channels and punch to them outside of opening which will allow to remove soot. The arrangement of flues can be determined by temperature of surface of the furnace right after pro-fire chamber. In zone of channels it will be higher, than in places of monolithic laying.
7. The bad draft can be caused by the insufficient height of chimney. This parameter, all information on which it is easy to find in network, is defined by arrangement of pipe on roof. However even in case height of your pipe corresponds to standards, its increase will unambiguously enhance draft. Report several brick-on-edge courses on pipe or increase it clay, asbestos-cement or metal pipe. In the latter case strongly attach accessory pipe by means of steel collars to the main.
8. The bad draft can be caused also by lack of protective cap, leading to pipe otsyrevaniye, and sometimes and to effect of "zakhlopyvaniye" its wind. If the cap on your pipe is absent, establish it.
9. Among the reasons of bad draft there can be also too small inside diameter of flue (less than 150 mm) – in case it is executed from round metal, clay or asbestos-cement pipe. In this case replace old pipe new – large diameter.
