The manometer is the special device for measurement of pressure. Such devices happen different types, in particular, manometers of high and low pressure are allocated. Generally they look as the devices made in the small body. Besides, they can be with additional temperature scale or (vacuum meters) which are specially developed for measurement of pressure of the rarefied gases.

Instruction

1. The manometer has to be installed, as a rule, so that its indications were rather clearly visible to operating crew.

2. Nominal body diameter of manometers which are installed on the ball to two meters from the level of location of the platform of observation has to be about 100 mm, not less. At the height from two to three meters – it is not less than 160 mm. At the same time installation of the manometer at the height more than three meters from the level of location of the platform of observation is forbidden.

3. Between the manometer and vessel the special three-way cock or the device replacing it which will allow to carry out periodic inspection of the manometer by means of the control device has to be surely established.

4. In necessary cases, in particular from working conditions and also properties of working environment, supply the manometer with siphon tube, the oil device, the buffer and other additional elements which will be able to ensure reliable functioning of the manometer and to protect it from direct environmental activity and temperature.

5. The manometers and pipelines connecting them to vessel have to be surely well protected from freezing.

6. Further connect monometer. On the T-coupler tighten it, falling short monometer a little to distil air.

7. Manometers cannot be allowed to application in such cases when: there is no seal or brand with mark about carrying out necessary checking, the term of this checking is overdue and also if the arrow of the manometer at its shutdown does not return to zero value of scale and if glass of the manometer is broken or there are some even insignificant damages which will be able to affect correctness of indications.

8. At detection of fault the manometer needs to be sent for repair. Before delivery in repair clean the manometer from dirt and rust.
