- - sphagnum;
- - dense brown paper.
Instruction
1. Preparation of bulb of tulip for long storage should be begun at once as soon as the plant fades. In order that the bulb was correctly created, break off seed box.
2. When two top leaves of plant turn yellow, dig out bulbs of the earth. Usually it occurs at the beginning of July, but in your garden there can be also later grades. It is the best of all to dig out tulips in dry, not really sunny weather. Dry the plants taken from the earth in shadow within two-three days, having spread out them even layer on dry surface.
3. Separate bulbs from stalks and roots. It is the best of all to throw out sick bulbs at once. Process planting stock in weak solution of potassium permanganate within half an hour. The processed tulips need to be dried within three-five days, having scattered them in one layer on dry fabric or papers.
4. Bulbs are stored in cardboard or board boxes. That the planting stock has not deteriorated, fill tulips in boxes in two layers and deliver to capacity to the dry room with temperature not lower than twenty three degrees. By August temperature at which bulbs are stored should be reduced to twenty degrees, and in September – to fifteen.
5. When temperature of the soil remains at the level of ten-fifteen degrees, bulbs put to the earth. If you are not going to plant tulips in the fall, wrap bulbs in several layers of dense brown paper, having done in it holes, and remove in vegetable office of the fridge. It is possible to envelop bulbs sphagnum.
6. In April it is possible to plant tulips, dolezhavshy till spring, in superficial box. Fill in it the garden earth and densely place bulbs on this layer. Fill up tulips with five-centimetric layer of the earth and water.
7. After emergence of shoots to prikopayta box in garden. The tulips planted in such a way will blossom after those which have been landed in the fall.
