How to learn brick weight

How to learn brick weight

The brick is construction material which is made of clay by way of roasting or steam treatment. Depending on look and scope of application distinguish ceramic, silicate and front bricks. To make the calculations necessary for transportation of brick, it is necessary to know its sizes and weight.

It is required to you

  • - metal ruler;
  • - caliper;
  • - square;
  • - calculator;
  • - sheet of paper for data recording.

Instruction

1. Brick weight directly depends on its sizes: lengths, width and heights and also density of this construction material. The mass of brick is calculated on formula of the work of volume of brick on its density.

2. Measure by ruler width, length and height of one brick. Write down measuring results on the sheet of paper in millimeters.

3. To define curvatures of edges and surfaces, apply edges of the square or metal ruler and measure the maximum cambers and deflections.

4. To reveal the beaten-off edges or corners, define the difference between the necessary size of brick and the whole parts of each of edges which make corner.

5. Multiply the received width, length and height among themselves to receive brick volume. Learn data on density of brick from the seller or producer of this construction material. Standardly density of brick is equal to 1800 kg/m³.

6. Increase density by volume. The received result will also be the volume weight of brick.

7. It is possible to determine brick weight by technical scales. For this purpose put sample on scales and write down indications. The brick has to be dried up previously to constant weight.
