If the area of your own apartment is unknown to you, it can be measured independently. Everything that for this purpose is required - tape measure, the calculator and knowledge from the field of elementary mathematics.
Instruction
1. Surely involve in process of measurement of the area of the assistant. Without it to use tape measure at you hardly it will turn out. Do not try to measure length of walls by steps, the repeated application of ruler - accuracy will turn out extremely low. In the presence of laser range finder it is possible to do also without assistant, but such device is too expensive to buy its once only to measure the area of the apartment. If you already have it, using it, observe security measures.
2. Measure length of wall together with the assistant on plinth. The slightest deviation of the direction of tape of tape measure from horizontal position will lead to emergence of error towards increase.
3. Measure in each of rooms thus lengths of any two walls perpendicular each other. Carry out such measurements in one and all rooms of the apartment. Transfer all measuring results expressed in millimeters to meters.
4. To learn the area of any given room, multiply its width at length. If basic data are expressed in meters, the result will turn out in square meters.
5. Put together the areas of all rooms of the apartment separately, without other rooms, and you learn so-called living space of the apartment.
6. Add to result of the previous calculation of the area of all other rooms, and the so-called total area of the apartment as a result will turn out.
7. If desired, learn the volume of any of rooms. For this purpose increase its square by height. You take measurement of height, surely using step-ladder, being careful, and also with the assistant. Measure height in corner between walls that the line has turned out strictly vertical - otherwise there can also be error because of its small diagonalnost. Remember that in bathroom height of ceilings it is normal slightly less, than in other rooms, and in the hall there can be fitted cupboards and mezzanines.
