How to look after garden wild strawberry

At cultivation of garden wild strawberry many are sure that it belongs to plants which "grow" therefore are content with any harvest of this culture. But if to make efforts and to provide to wild strawberry due care, then results will not keep themselves waiting long.

It is required to you

  • - peat, straw, humus;
  • - urea, ammonium nitrate;
  • - boric acid, potassium permanganate.

Instruction

1. After landing of plantings of wild strawberry that seedling grew quicker, abundant watering is necessary for it. So, (in particular at very dry and windy weather) water it for two weeks daily or every two days. After landing to zamulchiruyta the soil near plants. Such action helps plants to take root better, prevents siccation of soil cover, promotes improvement of productivity of plants, and further, with the onset of cold weather will protect them from frosts. As mulch you can use peat, straw or humus. At the same time you should not forget that its layer about 5 cm will be the most optimum when mulching.

2. If the soil to which garden wild strawberry has been landed has been well fertilized, then this culture it is possible not to feed up till next year. But if plants develop badly, then month later after their landing, it is worth bringing urea or ammonium nitrate in calculation of 5 g/m2.

3. For the second year after landing during the spring period remove the died-off leaves from wild strawberry bushes, carry out loosening of the soil. At the same time it should be taken into account that as the root system of this plant can be damaged with ease, it is possible to carry out loosening only on small depth (there will be 2-3 cm directly near bushes and about 10 cm in row-spacings enough). Throughout season it is necessary to loosen landings about 3-4 times. After this bring humus on 4-5kg/sq.m.

4. Before blossoming and during it use microfertilizers: spray bushes, alternating among themselves water solutions on the basis of boric acid and potassium permanganate. From the moment of setting of berries before the end of the period of fructification no works connected with care for wild strawberry can be carried out.

5. On one place of berry you should not grow up more than 4 years as later this period the quality of the soil becomes much worse therefore the productivity decreases, and bushes become more subject to various wreckers and diseases. In year before planting is liquidated, in other place it is necessary to make new. However at placement of wild strawberry it should be taken into account that it cannot be landed in that place where before it potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers or cabbage grew.
