If during the winter period of time in your apartment it is still cold though batteries warm, you do not hurry to think of change of heating system. For a start try to improve efficiency of its work, namely to increase heat emission coefficient. To provide heat-insulated floor or batteries in the house, hold number of events which will help to raise heat emission of heating system.
Instruction
1. Wipe batteries with damp rag, having removed from them the collected dirt and dust as it is one of the factors interfering distribution of heat. Besides, check that in the battery too clean. For this purpose invite the plumber who by means of special purpose tools will check batteries. Wash out them from within if there is such need.
2. If with purity everything is all right, try to make the following: recolour batteries in any dark color as it absorbs better and radiates heat energy. For coloring use the enamel dissolved in gasoline or paint like zinc white. After holding this procedure of the battery will give 10-15% more heat.
3. Paste on wall behind the battery foil or enclose the heatreflecting screen under radiator. It will help to send heat in the right direction from wall to the living room. The heatreflecting screen can be bought or made independently of metal sheet or foil. Except that the screen will reflect heat, it will also heat up, warming up thus air.
4. Increase the total area of surface of radiator therefore to increase amount of the given heat. For this purpose fix additional casings on batteries. If batteries are heated absolutely poorly, use casings from aluminum as this metal quickly enough heats up itself and gives heat. If in the room heat, batteries are heated well, but often switch-off them, then apply massive iron casing. It heats up longer, but gives heat longer.
5. Direct the fan to the battery to remove from it heat. Place fans so that to drive air in the necessary direction. In principle, you can mount fans independently, using, for example, cooler from the computer and to arrange them in the lower part of radiator. They will promote the best air circulation from floor to ceiling.
6. Also check heat regulator on the battery: perhaps, it is fastened therefore the heating system does not provide you with heat fully.
