In the winter for birds there comes the difficult hungry period. To help with our forces to them, having made with feeding trough with own hands from tree. It perfectly will be suitable for birds, small by the size — titmouses or chaffinches.

- - mill diameter 1-11/4 (the more the better);
- - glue gun;
- - nippers;
- - flat-nose pliers;
- - the log with a diameter of 225 mm, is possible more;
- - glass jar with the twisting cover;
- - 4 small brass screws;
- - abrasive paper;
- - varnish on tree;
- - edible rock oil for steeping of wood;
- - jute rope (chain or linen rope);
- - metal wire for hook or wire;
- - paper for production of template;
- - glue;
- - pencil or marker for marking.
1. Make roof. For this purpose round preparation 200 mm thick cut off from two parties at an angle 45 degrees. It is possible to use also flat wooden disk 50 mm thick, but then the feeding trough will be not such beautiful. At you the peaked crest has to turn out. Make template for production of openings of the sheet of paper. Use pencil or marker. Make sure that openings do not get on preparation peak. Drill openings, observing precaution. It is desirable to record preparation.
2. Prepare the place for seeds. By means of ruler and compasses find the center of the lower part of feeding trough. If it does not coincide with actual, find another, otherwise the design will crookedly hang. In the found center put cover from banks and circle it with pencil (the marker difficult cleans up nazhdachka). On diameter of mill on tree mark spaces for seeds with such condition that they freely got from banks and filled them in process of emptying by birds. As option — instead of 4 small cups make 2 big. Make mill the marked spaces for seeds of 20-25 mm in depth. Drill with a diameter of 5 mm drill drain hole in each cup, then seeds will not grow mouldy. Periodically clean it.
3. Smooth out wood: for the lower part use only edible rock oil, and for roof — varnish. If not to make it, then precipitation and sunshine will quickly destroy design.
4. Establish the main ring: in cover from banks cut core, having left at the edges the place for fastening to the lower part of design. Fix ring by brass or corrosion-proof screws (metal will quickly deteriorate).
5. Make suspension: cut 4 pieces of rope of such length that the roof freely could rise for replacement of seeds in bank. On the ends of jute rope make knots, pass it through the lower, and then upper part of future feeding trough. Apply on them glue that were not weakened. Connect upper parts of ropes and fix among themselves by wire, protect hot glue from precipitation. Level feeding trough down and suspend on hook.
