Cutting of apple-trees is serious and laborious work. Each gardener, being engaged in care for this culture, it is obliged to know how it is correct to cut off apple-tree that it gave as much as possible harvest annually.
Instruction
1. Most often capital cutting apple-trees passes in spring time. At winter it is possible to cut off too, but it is not enough that the cut-off places have not frozen during cold weather.
2. Cutting of the fructifying apple-tree is made in two ways: thin out branches and/or shorten them. It is necessary for the correct growth of tree and forming of magnificent krone. Thinning is begun, cutting off upper part of trunk where volume branchings are located on some branch. Thus, it is possible to reduce height of tree and to open light access in krone. Then, beginning from above and going down gradually, cut out the dry and damaged branches. After that it is necessary to produce cutting of branches, especially thickened. It is also necessary to cut off the largest and long branches.
3. At scrap it is necessary to watch that there were no stumps. Otherwise there is risk of their rotting and formation of hollow. In addition, it is impossible to do cut too close to trunk as it long and painfully begins to live.
4. It is better to cut small branches secateurs. To coat fresh cuts for the second day, for the best mending and that there the infection has not got. If remove dry branches, then it is necessary to paint over the cut-off places at once.
5. At scrap it is necessary to observe the level provision of each of branches. It means that the lower branches have to be longer than the branches which are above. Also it is necessary to pay special attention to the main branch: it has to be proportional in relation to those branches which grow directly from it.
6. The annual or just planted tree is cut off directly after landing. Secateurs cut off upper part of trunk. Cutting should be conducted so that to plan what the apple-tree will be in the future. That the tree has better taken root, after cutting on the lower part of stipitate there have to be at least 4 kidneys.
7. Branches which should be cut off: - growing inside, but not outside of tree; - crossing; - the apple-trees hampering the normal growth.
