Very often the upholstery of favourite chair or sofa becomes useless. It is not always convenient to buy new furniture: money and guarantees are for this purpose necessary that it will be same convenient, as old, is not present. From this situation there is simple exit - it is possible to make furniture banner with own hands.

- Upholstery fabric, batting or cotton wool, scissors for fabric, pincers, the screw-driver, piece of chalk, tailor's centimeter, the furniture stapler.
Instruction
1. Remove old furniture upholstery, having accurately unstitched seams and having removed material which has fitted old chair or sofa. You should not throw out old upholstery fabric – it is useful for calculation of consumption of panel material. Try to remove it so that several parts (back, seat, sidewalls) have turned out. If you are going to change stuffing of furniture, check as far as the volume of old laying coincides with the prepared cotton wool or batting. Take measurements of piece of furniture, adhering to the following principle: longitudinal threads of cloth on back and seat have to pass lengthways, and on handles, on the contrary, across.
2. Take piece of furniture to constituent parts, having disconnected sidewalls. Then remove seat and back. Photograph process by means of the digital camera - it will help you to carry out correctly assembly of furniture further. The upholstery most often fastens brackets which need to be taken out accurately, using pincers and the screw-driver.
3. Attentively examine soft filler. If you decide that it should be changed too, remove it. Take the prepared new filler and start stuffing of furniture. Try to distribute batting or cotton wool evenly, without lumps and holes.
4. Put on floor new upholstery fabric, and on it – elements of old upholstery. Circle with part piece of chalk. Consider dimensions of furniture and elasticity of new upholstery fabric. It is better to make pattern slightly more, it will secure you against annoying mistakes in calculations. Scissors cut new panel elements. Start tension of new upholstery, fixing it by means of the furniture stapler. For masking of the place of fastening it is possible to use decorative elements.
5. Collect the updated piece of furniture, using if necessary the pictures made earlier. Make sure that all parts keep strong and do not dangle.
