Technology of laying of plywood on wooden floor
Stage No. 1. Preparation of old covering
At first the condition of old floor is estimated. It is necessary to pay attention to absence damaged by mold and decay of elements. If damages take place to be, it is necessary to change old draft floors for new by all means. Similar surface damages speak about the increased humidity indoors. It is necessary to reveal its source for further elimination.
If in floors there are cracks and holes, their width should not exceed 5 cm. Otherwise restoration of old floor covering will be required. As a rule, prefabricated elements of any wooden surface are deformed over time. It, in turn, leads to emergence of relief. For elimination of this problem the floors should be ground according to the following scheme.
- It is necessary to get the grinder. It is better to lease it since at single repair by the hands it is inexpedient to buy the similar expensive equipment.
- It is necessary to fix the become loose elements. Floor boards it is necessary to fix by means of wedges and nails. By the way, it will help to prevent further scratch of floors. If plywood before purchase was stored in conditions, approximate to where it will be used after purchase, then it is enough to it to lie down indoors day. If material before purchase was stored on the warehouse where storage conditions differ from conditions in premises, then the correct decision will leave to be stored material within 5 days at the room temperature.
Stage No. 3. Plywood cut
Sheets are displayed on all room, sawn by the electrofret saw. The fact is that to lay draft plywood floor integral elements – not the best option. It is better to cut out them on elements less to minimize possible processes of deformation of sheets. For example, the standard plywood sheet of 1.5х1.5 m is sawn on 4 parts.
Each element should be numbered that in the course of work not to mix order of fixing of sheets. At apportion of the sawn elements it is necessary to consider intervals between sheets, equal 2-4 mm. Between wall and plywood sheets the distance has to make 8-10 mm. These gaps are designed to compensate expansion of material at load of covering and at temperature change.
Stage No. 4. Plywood impregnation
The plywood sheets mounted under linoleum need impregnation. The fact is that these elements can be damaged by mold fungus at hit of moisture on them. Therefore it is necessary to use special antifungal structures antiseptics, for example, to impregnate plywood with drying oil.
During impregnation, solution is applied by means of normal brush. The surface has to dry out well then sheets can be used for laying on floor. It is in addition recommended to varnish plywood. It is optional, but resistance to rotting and durability will increase many times.
Stage No. 5. Technology of mounting of plywood sheets
Here many various nuances are. For example, plywood can be laid directly on timber floor, on concrete tie and on the predetermined logs. If the third option is chosen, then when laying log under them plates for alignment are surely enclosed.
On any surface between sheets the gap in 3 mm is necessary. It is necessary in order that at deformation the surface remained plain. It is necessary to select optimum way of fixing of plywood: for wooden floor or at arrangement of plywood on logs only self-tapping screws, and are used to cement and sand tie – glue and dowel of fast mounting (additional fastening).
If plywood sheets are mounted on concrete tie, their surface is degreased and cleaned. For increase in coupling primer is used. Only after that apply uniform glue layer about 3 cm thick on sheets. When all flooring is pasted to surface, it is necessary to wait for full drying of glue. After that plywood as it has been written above, is in addition fixed dowel self-tapping screws with step to 15-20 cm.
Stage No. 4. Cosmetics
Finishing stage in installation of draft plywood flooring for linoleum is seal by the palette of seams in joints between sheets. For this purpose, as a rule, putty for tree is used. After its drying it is necessary to level surface: for this purpose the abrasive paper manually grinds joints. It is possible to use the grinder. Further linoleum keeps within.
