To sew pillowcase for sofa or chair, it is not obligatory to have skills of the experienced seamstress. Simplicity of form allows to experiment with material, color and decorative elements differently. One of the most effective ways to decorate pillow – to make pillowcase with volume pattern.

Instruction
1. Choose ornament which you want to transfer to pillow. It can be the ethnic drawing or monogram copied from family crest of the French baron. You should not choose ornament with too small parts or asymmetric pattern. Consider that the drawing has to fit into small square well. Ready cliches are on many Internet portals devoted to needlework. It is enough to be kept in memory of the computer and to print. Remember that then to you it will be necessary to increase ornament to real size that it is possible to make in special service centers.
2. Transfer the drawing to monophonic fabric. One should not be too thin or active on color. Its task is to be basis of pillowcase and neutral background for the chosen pattern. The drawing can be transferred, having made applique of dense material, for example, of felt, or having laid out it from knitted strips. The ornament from felt needs to be attached to material pins on all plane, and then to sew manually seam "forward needle". For knitting of long braids take threads which will not paint fabric after washing. The way of tying can be any. Use concealed joint, sewing knitted elements to fabric.
3. Start tailoring of the pillowcase. Cut out two squares from patterned fabric so that the ornament has appeared on the center. Make two cuts for backside of future pillowcase. If the size of squares was 60kh60sm, then the area of cuts can be 60kh50sm and 60kh40sm. Hem vertical edges.
4. Sew the turned-out preparation and fabric with ornament inner side. Do not forget to process edges carefully. Turn out product on face side. If you had surplus of fabric, make of them frills. For this purpose cut material strips about 10 - 20 cm wide, having made stock on pleating. Sew frills concealed joint. According to your desire, you can decorate in addition pillow with border or brushes on corners. Wash ready pillowcase in soft shampoo, dry up and carefully iron out the iron. After that it can be put on pillow.
