1. Choosing height of podium and the place of its construction, take care of that it was visually allocated. It will allow to avoid bruises and injuries. Steps if those are provided, have to be convenient. Counting podium height, consider that with its emergence the distance between floor and ceiling will decrease, and it in turn will cause reduction of amount of air in the room.
2. The monolithic podiums built on wet technology from cement and sand tie are inexpedient to be established in the apartment. The fact is that such design because of the weight will render enormous load of overlappings, than risks to fail on the first floor. Besides, it is impossible to build in the system of storage such podium.
3. As fine alternative monolithic serves the frame podium. For its production at first build framework from bar or metal, and then sheathe it plate material, such as OSB plates or plywood, or draft board. From above lay parquet, linoleum, laminate or carpet on covering.
4. Before placement of podium learn what maximum load is admissible on overlapping. For the standard apartment this indicator is equal to 400-800 kg on 1 sq.m. Then add on the weight of the podium and possible load of it.
5. If you are not going to force podium furniture, then will be to make design under loading of 150 kg / 1м2 enough. At the same time use for framework bar with the section of 4 cm. Establish racks with step to 0.4-0.5 m. If on podium it is supposed to establish furniture, then count weight and select thickness of racks, already proceeding from this circumstance. At load of podium of 200 kg/sq.m take bar with the section of 5 cm or more. Racks have at distance of 0.4 m one from another.
6. At production of framework establish boards at right angle to each other and fix by nails. Sheathe framework plywood, attaching it screws to boards. Complete the work as laying on design of finishing covering.
