The balcony is usually used as the technical room where it is convenient to store unnecessary things. But quite often here equip recreation area or even winter garden. Prepare all materials and tools, necessary for work. It will be necessary for you:
- hacksaw or electrofret saw;
- drill;
- tape measure or ruler;
- pencil;
- screw-driver and screw driver;
- self-tapping screws;
- fastening elements (corners, loops, dowels).
Draughting of future shelf has to become the first stage of work. There is no need to do the detailed drawing. However in the drawing basic sizes of constructive parts have to be put down. At view of the sketch you have to understand what will be proportions of future product where there are places of connections and fastening elements. Without such evident scheme the defects in work are inevitable.
The design of suspended type is considered the simplest and budgetary option of the wall shelf. Its production requires two or three flat parts (boards), strong rope and couple of hooks which will fasten to wall or to ceiling. Hooks can quite replace metal dowels.
Apply marking on the chosen material (it can be board or the laminated plate). Cut constructive parts by the size and number them, being guided by conceptual design. Make on parts of future shelf of mark in places where rope fixture will be located. Closer to edges of boards it is necessary to drill on couple of small openings; their diameter will correspond to rope thickness.
Collect design. For this purpose it is necessary to pass consistently rope (cord, rope) through openings. Level regiments, having made distance between them equal on both edges. On progress of work it is necessary to make nodes on ropes, without tightening them it is still final. These knots will become some kind of limiters: they will not allow boards to move on height. When the design is collected completely, knots can be tightened finally.
Apply marking on balcony wall. You need to note places where dowels or hooks will be hammered. The distance between them is defined by width of "shelf" design. Height of such compound shelf if desired can be adjusted later.
Hammer dowels into wall. Hang design on fastening elements. Double-check reliability of connection of boards and ropes. If necessary adjust design, having moved and having tightened knots.
The additional advantage of such beautiful and cheap shelf is in what in need of it can always be removed, put and removed on temporary storage.
