Tulips are bulbous perennials which blossom very first after warming up of the earth up to the optimum temperature. Duration of blossoming does not exceed two weeks. That tulips stood long, it is necessary to observe certain technology of their storage.

1. Right after you cut off flowers or have presented you bouquet, cut off stalks. Unlike other species of flowers, for example roses, cut off stalks of tulips not obliquely, and exactly, dip tips of stalks into granulated sugar, wind them with paper. It needs to be made in order that at installation in vase they were not bent. In 3-4 hours remove paper.
2. Put tulips in ice water. That to make water ice, add to it several cubes of ice. During the day systematically add cubes with ice, without giving the chance to be warmed to water.
3. Put vase with tulips far from sunshine and sources of heat. Most long the bouquet will be stored in the cold room.
4. For preservation of fresh tulips the maximum quantity of time add medicine which helps to keep any flowers to water. It is on sale in flower shops, has trade name of Krizal. All flower shops use this medicine for preservation of the brought bouquets.
5. Instead of the specified medicine you can use make-shifts, for example aspirin tablet, citric acid, the sweetened water, vinegar, vodka, medical alcohol, chlorine-containing means. Add any specified medicines to water in the minimum quantity and before installation of bouquet carefully shake up contents. For 1 litas of water add 1 tablet of the crushed aspirin or 1 g of citric acid, 1 teaspoon of sugar, half of teaspoon of table 8% of vinegar, teaspoon of products that contain alcohol or 1 drop of chlorine-containing means.
6. Daily change water, rinse stalks under flowing water, do new cut and always add ice to vase.
7. If you have opportunity, then take out vase for the night to the room with temperature plus 2 degrees, it will promote that buds for the night will be closed and long will not break up at storage.
