- The hammer, finish nails in 1.25 cm, abrasive paper, waterproof glue, drill, plywood, copper hook, rod for pole, paint.
Instruction
1. The birdhouse always becomes from the basis. Cut plate sizes 10x10, 10x12 or 12x12. These are standard parameters for birdhouse bottom.
2. Prepare boards for four sides of the birdhouse, height they have to be equal to 34 cm. Longwise side parts are equal to the bottom sizes (10-12 cm), and to lengths of front and back boards add 2 cm from sides.
3. In front plate in the center at distance of 8 cm from the top cut drill opening. For starling it has to have diameter of 32-35 mm, for titmouse there is enough 25 mm.
4. Beat front plate, and then and side parts to bottom. Do not touch back board yet as it is better to beat it upon termination of work with the birdhouse when the form is completely corrected.
5. Now it is necessary to attach fixing pole, for this purpose drill small hole in back board and attach copper hook about 2 cm in size.
6. Beat back wall to foundation of the birdhouse.
7. The roof of bird's lodge has to hang a little on each side and in front, it is necessary that rain water flew down, without getting to the birdhouse. The sun, thus, too excessively will not scorch inside. The parameters of 15х17 cm will be ideal for this birdhouse.
8. To front wall, is slightly lower than the main opening, paste pole. For this purpose use wooden rod of 7-8 cm. The flying birds will sit down on it before flying inside.
9. Now grind all surface of the birdhouse, and inside leave boards not planed. It will be better if in process you make on internal part of notch that baby birds could get out with ease of lodge.
10. If desired paint the birdhouse with paint, safe for birds. Keep in mind that light tone attract less heat therefore the lodge can be cold.
11. Ideally the birdhouse has to imitate natural dwellings in the form of opening in trees therefore avoid bright colors and choose natural shades. On face side for bigger similarity to hollow it is possible to leave bark or to paste it glue. Then birds will definitely not disregard your birdhouse.
12. Fill up various grains, seeds, grain on bottom.
13. Hang up the birdhouse not below, than on 2 m from the earth, in places where not too scorches the sun, and there is no danger that cats will get on tree and will ruin the bird's house. You watch it, periodically clean from garbage, feathers, bugs and leftovers. Also do not forget to fill up lodge with forage. Successful neighbourhood!
