For the best orientation in the apartment or in the house in night-time it is desirable to equip lighting switches with special illumination. Such illumination will allow to see in the dark the switch and will save you from search of the switch "to the touch". It is rather simple to make such illumination.
It is required to you
- - neon bulb;
- - current-limiting resistor to it;
- - bulb of 5 Watts on 220 Volts;
- - boss to bulb;
- - LED;
- - current-limiting resistor to it;
- - screw-driver;
- - connecting conductings;
- - insulating tape.
Instruction
1. Illumination of the switch can be external or built-in. It can also play role of night-time illumination (night lamp). One condition – illumination cannot be put in those chains where energy saving lamps are established. Through illumination chain on energy saving lamp the small current arrives, the condenser in it is charged, the lamp is quickly lit, then goes out. This process repeats, that is it begins to blink.
2. For production of external illumination use neon bulb or bulb of incandescence of 5 Watts on 220 Volts. Collect chain, having consistently connected neon bulb to the current-limiting resistor (determine the face value of the resistor by the reference book, it strongly depends on type of the used neon lamp). Insulate bulb position of joint with the resistor. Uncover the switch. Connect this chain parallel to switch terminals (consistently chains of inclusion of lighting instrument).
3. Pay attention: if illumination connect the switch coupled to terminals which include external lighting. Example: light switch in corridor and the bathroom. Here connect illumination in chain of switching off of light in corridor. Fix illumination bulb about the switch. Put into place switch cover.
4. Connect bulb of incandescence also, only without current-limiting resistor. Attach it to wall by means of self-made bracket. Close lamp the small shading lamp shade.
5. For the built-in type of illumination of the switch use LED. Collect consecutive chain from LED and the current-limiting resistor. Resistance of the resistor has to be about 200 kOhm. Insulate LED position of joint with the resistor.
6. Uncover the switch. On diameter of LED make opening in cover. The opening has to be in such place where there is free space under LED and the resistor at the switch cover established into place. Connect LED with the resistor parallel to switch terminals. Establish switch cover with LED into place.
