1. Choose the place in the forest where there is a lot of windfall and other unnecessary wood. Pile firewood near fire on which you will burn through them. Do not touch live trees. Find the fallen dry tree better. Collect also number of brushwood. Saw large logs on pieces on 25-40 cm.
2. Dig out round hole depth about half a meter. In the diameter it can be 0.75-1 m Remember that over fire there should not be low hanging down branches. Try to remove from hole and dry grass which can accidentally light up. The hole can be more if there is a lot of firewood and large amount of coal is necessary. But to receive couple of bags of the necessary substance, half-meter it is quite enough. Remove upper part of the soil accurately and put on some distance from fire. Make walls of hole vertical, and properly trample down bottom.
3. At the bottom of hole make fire. Kindle it gradually, enclosing at first pieces of birch bark and small branches, then sticks are larger. Continue process until the bottom of hole represents continuous fire. From this point begin to enclose large firewood there. Stack them densely and gradually. Having put one log, wait until it lights up, and only after that put the second nearby.
4. Enclose logs until the hole is filled almost up to the top. There have to be 5-10 cm. Wait until the top firewood turns into brands. Cover coal layer with grass or leaves. From above cover all this with earth and stamp. Leave hole alone for two days. It is necessary that coals have cooled down.
5. In two days remove layer of the earth and foliage. Devastate hole by means of normal shovel. Coal needs to be sifted still. It throughout many centuries became by means of sieve. Then pour the creation to bags.
6. Think what you will do further with hole. If you constantly are engaged in forge craft or casting from metal, coal will be required to you still more than once.
