Instruction
1. The standard wooden wheel consists of nave, needles, rim segments and also of metal parts: sleeves, bandages of nave and bandages of rim.
2. Before starting production of wheel, draw wheel in actual scale on drawing paper, piece of plywood or cardboard. It is necessary to make sure that needles will really be placed in nave, without creating hindrances each other. The drawing will also help to determine the sizes of segments of wheel and needles full-scale. Normal quantity of needles and segments – 12 pieces.
3. For production of parts prepare seasoned wood. Taking into account loads of wheel it is necessary to give preference to strong breeds of wood. The wheel made of soft or not dry-through wood by all means will collapse over time.
4. The steel strip 4 mm thick will be suitable for production of bandages. The ends of plate delay and connect with an overlap, forming longwise rivet joint. For this edge of the openings with a diameter about 10 mm made in one end of strip weld on the end of other strip of joint. Bandages of naves can be executed and from pipe, at the same time it is necessary to begin with bandages, and to adjust wooden rim to steel bandage.
5. Assembly of wheel is begun with nozzle of bandages on naves. Then in nave hammer on the steel sleeve. Establish to slots of nave of needle, and on them establish the corresponding segments. When landing needles to slots make grooves of 1 mm in depth that slots came out air.

7. The heated bandage has to have the inside diameter equal to wheel rim diameter on which it is got. Heat bandage stronger, and faying at the same time will go easier. Heating of bandage is carried out usually to 650 wasps, determining temperature by color of heat (in our case it will be between brown-red and dark red colors). For heating use fire or horn. The wheel is stacked flatwise and reliably fixed. Then the bandage is quickly transferred to wooden rim and rebuffed on it by means of sledge hammer and mandrels. After cooling the wheel is prepared for use.
