The groove is the dredging in part limited to flat or shaped surfaces. Operation of milling of groove is quite widespread, it is carried out on the milling machine by means of shaped, disk or end mill.

Instruction
1. If you need to make rectangular through groove, use disk tripartite, grooving or end mill. When milling exact groove pay attention to width of disk mill – it has to be less, than the groove width, given size at the same time receive for the account of several approaches.
2. When using end mills it is very important to pick up spindle rotating direction correctly: make it opposite rather screw grooves of mills.
3. Mill the closed grooves on the vertical machine by means of end mill which diameter is 1-2 mm less than groove width. To receive the necessary depth, move table with part in vertical and lengthwise direction, then continue groove at the necessary length. In conclusion make fair passes on sides.
4. To make the Tee groove, use the vertically milling machine and end mill strictly by the opening size. Perform work in two steps – at first create rectangular cut, and then wide part of groove. If the Tee groove has to have the filled-up edges, walk on it once again with triangular mill.
5. If you need to make groove in shape "larkspur", take end angular mill with the corner equal to corner of the required groove. Upon the first transition make rectangular groove by means of end mill, and on the second remove one-angular disk mill bevels. Rather narrow groove can be made also for one pass if you have special mills.
6. To mill curvilinear groove, at once calculate the necessary movement of giving as the groove should be conducted on full depth in the first pass. On turns reduce feed speed for reduction of difference in incision.
7. If milling happens to big giving, there can be such defects as chipping of corners of groove at the time of mill exit. That to avoid it, switch off mechanical giving before exit of part and carefully complete groove manually.
