Instruction

1. The old metal chandelier can be painted. It will become beautiful and bright again, a lot more years will decorate interior. Buy alkyd enamel, acrylic paint or spray paint. Alkyd enamel keeps better than other paints. It needs to be put in several layers.

2. Clean and degrease metal parts of chandelier (by means of abrasive paper and acetone). Put with brush the first layer of enamel. Wait until it completely dries out. After that paint chandelier parts once again, yet you will not achieve the necessary color effect (saturated or gentle color). Remember that acrylic enamel has very unpleasant smell therefore with it it is undesirable to work in the house – better in the fresh air or at least at balcony.

3. Art acrylic very well lays down on metal, however, it not resistant. It is the fastest way of updating of chandelier, but not really convenient as paint is sprayed extensively. Prepare surface for coloring. Clean from dust, grind abrasive paper, degrease acetone. Stir cylinder contents, stirring up it – it will make color uniform and will prevent obstruction of the spray.

5. Make trial dispersion, having slightly pressed the spray. You hold cylinder vertically, spraying paint thin layer at distance from 25 cm. To achieve the most saturated color, paint surface in several layers, taking break between each drawing two-three minutes.

6. Paint or paint glass plafonds (opaque, glossy, transparent) in any pleasant color. For this purpose buy the special paints intended for glass painting (are on sale in shops for artists). Put the drawing or pattern which approaches the general interior of your house. Use ready cliches (make independently silt get in shops for artists) if you doubt the art talents.
