Repainting of many musical instruments can affect quality of their sounding. It belongs to piano to a lesser extent: most of masters are sure that considerably the sound will not change. Besides, dressing will inhale new life even in the detuned tool which can become decoration of interior.
It is required to you
- - abrasive paper;
- - vacuum cleaner;
- - primer;
- - paint;
- - roller/brush;
- - varnish.
Instruction
1. Turn off all removable parts of the tool. Envelop those its parts on which paint should not get polyethylene. Lay space around piano newspapers (if you restore his houses, but not in workshop).
2. Remove old covering by means of abrasive paper. If varnish in good condition to rub rather only a little it to provide coupling with new coat of paint. In case of initially bad condition of covering remove it abrasive paper to the wooden basis.
3. At once collect the dust which is formed during oshkurivaniye by the vacuum cleaner. For protection of airways and eyes use respirator (or normal gauze bandage) and transparent points.
4. Close up chips and cracks on piano putty for tree. Its color can be picked up under shade of wood of the tool or to use any if you are going to varnish it not, and paint. You apply putty narrow with spatula, in places of small chips it is possible to use thin strip of cardboard.
5. Degrease piano surface before painting. For the best contact with future covering it is possible to process wood primer.
6. For giving of piano of new color use special varnish for musical instruments ("continuous"), polyester varnish or any paint for tree. Depending on expected design and material choose way of putting paint. "Continuous" varnish is applied in several layers with pauses on 20-30 minutes between each layer, in several days the procedure repeats (read about way of use on varnish packing). It is also possible to take barrels with acrylic (the consumption of such material will be quite high) or to put new color by means of the roller and brush. The roller will allow to create uniform covering without smudges and strips in the big square, brushes will be useful for prokrashivaniye of small parts.
7. After full drying of paint it can be covered with flat or glossy varnish or to decorate in the equipment to krakla. For creation of small cracks which will give to the tool the made old look apply crackle lacquer on the dried coat of paint, wait until it dries for 90-95 percent, and then put from above one more, contrast, color of paint. In the formed cracks the first layer of color will be noticeable. When paint dries, varnish the tool "finishing" for tree.
