How to paint plywood

Plywood is the sheet wood material consisting of the layers which are stuck together among themselves. Today it is widely used for finishing of apartments and personal plots. And often there is need to paint it.

It is required to you

  • - veneer sheets;
  • - paint;
  • - polyethylene film;
  • - brush and roller;
  • - painting tape.

Instruction

1. When carrying out repair and finishing work you can use veneer sheets as wall panels or for creation of interior elements (deepenings, columns, etc.).

2. Many are attracted by high environmental friendliness of sheet wood. Though It should be noted that the composition of the glue connecting plywood layers includes formaldehyde and amino-formaldehyde resins. But their contents is minimum, and the turned-out veneer sheets are almost non-toxic.

3. Often plywood in color parameters does not approach the conceived interior therefore in most cases it is painted. If you need to paint plywood, and the room in which it is, uninhabited, then you can use normal paint for tree. It will allow you to save and will not give big inconvenience.

4. If you are going to paint plywood in premises, then it is better to use water-based paint. It quickly dries, practically does not smell and well lays down on plywood.

5. Having decided on paint, solve, than you will paint – brush or the roller. Rollers are fur and foam. The low-quality fur roller can leave pile which you remove then with nothing from the painted surface. The foam roller will not cause similar inconveniences, it will evenly distribute paint on surface and will not leave behind any traces. But it will not be possible to paint with the roller corners and thin carved fragments, and here the brush perfectly is suitable for coloring of remote surfaces. But also the brush because of poor quality can begin "to grow bald" directly in the course of work. So you should not save on tools.

6. Before painting any surface should be cleaned and degreased. This rule is applicable to plywood only in cases of gross contamination.

7. Before beginning to paint plywood, take care of safety of surrounding space. Cover floors and furniture with polyethylene film, and stick sites which adjoin to the painted surface with painting tape. Remember that to wash even small drops of paint very difficult.

8. Do not "fill in" plywood with paint. Much - does not mean well. If go too far in amount of paint, on surface drips which in consequence will stiffen are formed and will remain forever.

9. Isolate from the painted veneer sheets of people and animals and let's paint dry.
