Define what area is ready to be allocated under beds. Draw them. It is important to consider that between them there have to be passes not less than 30 cm. If to make passes already – will inconveniently bring fertilizers, to process and water.
2. Solve, beds will tower above the ground or not. It makes sense to choose the first way if you have quite high level of underground water. The second – on the sandy soils or loams which are not burdened by such problem. It is necessary to tell that it is heavier to do beds - "crests", than to break that are located flush with the earth. For this purpose it is necessary to remove the top fertile soil layer, to make wooden curb, to fill it on two thirds with vegetable garbage (except for roots of perennial weed plants), to cover compost with earth and to return the soil removed earlier. Whereas for normal beds it is only enough to bring compost and to shovel it.
3. Plan placement of any given vegetable cultures in advance. Make crop rotation. Remember that the same botanical family should not grow on one bed in a row two years. Ideally, you should not return it on the former place of, at least, 4-5 years. Exceptions are made by long-term berry-pickers (strawberry, wild strawberry) and also green vegetables (sorrel, shnitt-onions, etc.).
4. Place beds in compliance with site illumination. As practice shows, sheet vegetables well grow on the beds lit with the morning sun. Too treats root crops of family of cruciferae family – to garden radish, radish, turnip and swede which at long daylight hours quickly begin to strelkovatsya, throwing out peduncle.
