Saplings of apple-tree can be planted either in the fall, or in the spring. Autumn landing is carried out in the first half of October, and spring – at the end of April to blooming of leaves.
Instruction
1. If autumn landing of saplings of apple-tree is planned, in advance, at the beginning of September, dig out and prepare landing holes that the soil has managed to settle in them thoroughly. In it fertilizer for future tree is filled up. On sandy soils mix clay with humus or peat and also add 1 kg of the granulated superphosphate and wood ashes. On loamy soils, clay with peat is replaced with compost or humus. The upper part of hole is powdered with prime quality land that roots had further no burns. Fill with adding with fertilizer about 1/3 holes.
2. On sites with close groundwater occurrance the saplings put not in hole, and on artificial hillocks. If you grew up saplings or stocks on the site, then it is better to postpone landing to the spring period. Before landing of apple-tree cut off the damaged ends of roots to healthy locality. You remember, the root system is longer, the easier the plant will take root. It is obligatory to put at positive air temperature on the street.
3. When you plant tree, do not allow drying of roots, put quickly. It is better to lower saplings for some time in the clay talker. Accurately display roots on all space of landing hole, between them there should not be emptiness therefore it is better to do charge by the friable cespitose soil. The root neck has to be located above ground level on 5-6 cm. The top layer of landing hole is filled up with the mixed compost with fertile soil from proportion 1:3.
4. It is better to make landing together. One lowers sapling in hole and keeps it in the correct situation, and another straightens roots and powders it with the earth, from time to time stirring up sapling that the soil has filled emptiness.
5. When the hole is filled up, around tree do hole by the size of landing hole. In it pour out three buckets of water to provide good contact of the soil with roots. The hole is covered dry with earth, and all mulch surface under tree peat or humus. Also for this purpose it is possible to use grass, sawdust or leaves.
