How to plant honeysuckle

Curative properties of honeysuckle are known long ago. There are edible and inedible species of this bush. On the seasonal dacha, of course, it is better to put edible grades. The honeysuckle not only will enrich your diet and house first-aid kit, but also will decorate your garden. It is unpretentious and in principle can grow anywhere, but in order that bushes yielded good harvest, it is necessary to create favorable conditions nevertheless.

Instruction

1. Choose the suitable site for planting of bushes. It has to be such that you could provide easily sufficient soil moisture, but at the same time the territory should not be with high level of underground water and furthermore boggy. The site has to be solar, the honeysuckle is photophilous and in shadow blossoms very badly, and respectively, and harvest gives small.

2. Prepare hole. Here everything depends on in what territory there is your site. If the soil easy and water in it does not stand, it is possible not to do anything else. It is recommended to add a little loam to the sandy soil and peat and if the soil very sour – that add lime solution at the rate of 150 g on 10 l of water. At clay soil it is necessary to provide good drainage. If you replace 2-3-year bush, but not sapling, expect that the landing hole will be about 30 cm in depth and diameter not less half a meter. Respectively, if you are going to do drainage, then the initial hole has to be deeper. Fill in it gravel or beaten brick. Gravel needs to be stamped properly. Over binding gravel fill layer of sand about 10 cm, and stamp. Add fertilizer depending on quality of the soil to hole. Compost is useful anyway therefore add about 10 kg to each hole, having carefully mixed with the earth.

3. Plant honeysuckle in the middle of September. If you plant sapling, his root neck has to be level with the earth. In principle, saplings can be planted and in the spring, nothing terrible will be. They will take root easily. And here adult bushes take root much worse in the spring therefore they plant them only towards the winter. For big bush the landing hole has to be wider and deeper, naturally, about half a meter in depth and it is not less than 70-80 cm in the diameter.

4. Regardless of that, you plant sapling or replace bush, the earth after landing needs to be stamped and to water well. At first the honeysuckle needs to be watered quite often, but so that roots have not decayed.
