Peony – the beautiful flower year after year pleasing with distinguished aroma and variety of color gamma. The distinctive feature of peony is that it is necessary to plant plant to the soil in the fall. But how to make it it is correct?
The peony belongs to grassy plant and has the powerful, fleshy root going deeply to the earth. In the world there are about 36 types of flower, and all of them are in own way unique. The soil does not fructify any more, the grass fades, and the earth layer is damp from the first rains that well influences implantation of backs to the earth. It is worth paying attention to weather in the region. In the south peonies land in October, and in the north in August. If you plant peonies in the spring, then all growth will go to stalk and leaves – buds will be sickly and ordinary-looking. If you cut off stalks and leaves to save the situation, the flower will die.
Choose the solar and windless place for landing: then flowers will give more magnificent buds. In shady and cool sites you will admire rare, emaciated inflorescences. The ideal soil for crops – loamy. Do not allow stagnation of water at roots, constant humidity – the main enemy of peony.
In 14 days prior to disembarkation dig out hole of 60 by 60 cm, fertilize it, pour 2 buckets water, add low-lying peat, wood ashes, humus, sand. Low-lying peat has black shade. The red (riding) peony does not accept. If the soil sour, add lime or chalk to fertilizers. On bottom of the dug-out hole put fragments of brick or fill binding gravel on height of 15-20 cm, for the best stability.
Choose strong two-year flowers with powerful rhizome. By fall their stalks will get stronger and will gain strength for further growth. Plant plant in hole, straighten roots, cover with earth and water properly. Do not cover with earth kidney at all – if to damage them, the flower will not be tied, so will die. Do not forget that time in several years peonies needs to be divided or replaced to the new place.
