1. Examine sapling roots before to buy it. The root system has to be well developed, with availability of young roots, without visible damages. Check whether the sapling is dried up. 2. Choose the place where the bush will grow on the site. The thuja grows in any soil and under any conditions, but it is desirable that it was the shady, windless place. Dig out hole of 70-80 cm in size. On bottom put binding gravel in 10-15 cm. Mix the cespitose soil, peat and sand in ratio 2:1:1. In hole lower sapling and fill up with this mix so that the root neck was at ground level. Add fertilizer. If you want to plant several bushes, then leave between them distance about 4 meters. If you want to make green hedge of thuja, then between bushes there has to be distance about a meter.

3. In the first month after landing water bush of times a week. If weather damp, then is enough 10 l of water on one plant, and at dry weather of 20 l. Water not only roots, but also krone, sprinkling it from hose or watering can. Further watering of thuja is necessary only in dry and hot weather.

4. Every spring cut off dry branches. Do it by means of sharp secateurs not to damage tips of branches. If you want to form figures of bush, then cut off branches at most on 1/3.
