Very often amateur gardeners are disturbed by the ants which are scurrying about on all site. In spite of the fact that it is very useful insects, they are able to cause to fruit-trees irreparable damage. To destroy garden ants on the seasonal dacha it is difficult as their quantity is designated by digits with six zero, and length of underpasses of ant hill - almost in kilometers. It is necessary to take measures of fight against them for protection of fruit-trees against insects in time.
Instruction
1. With arrival of long-awaited spring as soon as snow thaws, fill up pristvolny circles of trees on the site with thick layer of ashes and water from above with solution of table salt. It will interfere with the attacks of ants, will enrich the soil with various useful substances and potassium.
2. At the beginning of May impose on trees protective belts from polyethylene film 20-25 cm wide. Densely envelop it trunks in 2 layers at the height of 30 cm from the soil. Further apply with thin layer on film pitch, tar, solid oil or any other viscous substance through which ants will not be able to make the way.
3. Periodically update belts in process of pollution of sticky layer. You watch that sticky liquid from them did not get on trunks of trees in order to avoid burns. At the end of August surely take off trap belts.
4. Buy ordinary foil in shop and wind it around trunks of trees that sharp-edged short skirts have turned out. Ants not really flexible insects and will not be able to get through keen edge of foil.
5. Attentively examine all trees on availability of plant louse. At its detection process them special means. It is known that the plant louse emits sweet juice and by that attracts ants therefore it is necessary to get rid of her urgently.
6. Tie trunks of trees at the height of 30-40 cm with the layer of wool or cotton wool wetted in carbolic solution leave for three-four days and replace bandage. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times, then leave bandage for all summer.
7. In house conditions prepare dense mix from linseed oil, soot and table salt. Cover with it trunks 5-10 cm wide at the level of 20-30 cm from the soil.
8. Use ordinary and chloric lime for fight against mean insects. Fill it on all ant heaps and properly water.
9. Bring from the wood and lodge in the garden of large red ants. After that black ants will leave your territory.
