By means of green hedge it is possible to protect the site from dust, snow, strong wind, noise and public eyes, to separate the site into several zones or to cover with their help unattractive places on the site. Besides jumping of bushes is much more economic, than construction of different types of protections.
Instruction
1. First of all decide what fence you want. If you need the live borders or partitions separating the territory in the site, then low bushes will approach (barberry, kizilnik, spireya, silverweed). If you want to have the fence protecting from public eyes and strong winds on the site, then choose high bushes (thuja, lilac, fir-tree). For the curling fence it is better to take honeysuckle or grapes.
2. Green hedges are formed and svobodnorastushchy. Formed most often consist of coniferous breeds of bushes, well protect from wind and dust, but demand special care. Not less than two-three times a year such fence need to be cut, giving it the necessary geometrical form. The Svobodnorastushchy (natural) fence demands smaller leaving, blossoms more often and better grows, but quickly thins because of what the integrity of fence is broken.
3. Planting of bushes is made in the spring, but begin to pave the way in the fall. Dig ditch where you would like to plant plants. The ditch has to be depth and about 60 cm wide. If you want to land fence in two ranks, then it is better to dig out holes in chessboard order. In two days prior to landing add to ditch of the fertilized soil. Peat or humus will be suitable for fertilizer.
4. Plant bushes, around them press the soil a little and it is abundant water. If you plant bushes in one row (jumping of the formed fences), then do it on rope that the fence was equal. The distance between bushes has to be identical. Around them fill layer of sawdust or bark — it will protect plants from drying.
5. After landing make the first trimming of bushes. Cut off all escapes, leaving 20-30 cm from the earth. If you have natural (svobodnorastushchy) fence, then trimming is enough to carry out once a year. If the fence formed, then trimming it is necessary to do 3-4 times a year, and with strong growth of 10-12 times. Give to bushes the form of trapeze when the top basis of slightly already lower.
