Willows are not really exacting to the soil, differ in beautiful form of krone, for as are loved by landscape designers. Willows seeds and shanks breed.

It is required to you

  • - planting stock;
  • - sand;
  • - torfoperegnoyny pots;
  • - peat;
  • - the rerotting compost.

Instruction

1. At storage at willow seeds the viability considerably decreases, and therefore it is much simpler to plant this plant, having implanted shank. For receiving planting stock use svezhesrezanny one-year willow escapes.

2. It is the best of all to implant willow shanks in house conditions in the spring. Before landing cut escapes on pieces three-four centimeters long. It is noticed that the shanks which are cut out from the thick part of escape which is closer to trunk take roots better.

3. Put shanks in box with sand so that over the surface of sand there was wood no more than a centimeter. Water shanks and place container in the warm room. Cover box with escapes with glass and you watch that air temperature in it was not higher than twenty degrees.

4. For rooting the willow will need three-four weeks. All this time you watch that sand in box with shanks was damp. The implanted shanks are transplanted on separate torfoperegnoyny pots. One and a half months later the willow can be put on the constant place.

5. Pick up the place for landing. The willow will suit the site with the loamy soil. Even if on the chosen place underground waters lie close to surface, plant it will not damage.

6. The young plants planted on the constant place with earth lump well take root from the middle of spring till October at any time. Willows with open roots should be put in the early spring or at the beginning of leaf fall. If you are going to grow up not really winter-hardy species of this plant, put it in the spring. For landing dig out hole depth of half-meter and with a diameter of fifty centimeters.

7. On two thirds fill up hole with mix from equal quantity of excavated soil, peat and the rerotting compost. Place sapling in hole, fill up free space with excavated soil and slightly condense the earth.

8. Within year after landing the willows need abundant watering of times in two weeks at the rate of twenty liters of water on one plant. In dry weather the saplings should be watered once a week.
