For preparation of firewood a little they are simple to cut or saw, it is important to put them correctly.
Instruction
1. It is the best of all to put firewood under canopy or in the special shed for firewood. Such constructions have roof which does not allow to get to moisture and also the side and rod posts which are not allowing firewood to be scattered. If for firewood you have no shed, then put them near wall or fence.
2. On that place where firewood will lie, put brick-on-edge course in order that the lower number of logs did not decay from touch with the damp earth. On bricks put several sticks lengthways or across. When firewood is laid on these sticks, below there will be empty space that will provide normal air circulation, tree, necessary for drying.
3. Make support for firewood which will not allow them to fall. What will be support, depends on that how big is supposed woodpile. If you have a little firewood, then it is enough to make two support on each side. These support are made of the same firewood. Put the first row the polenets lengthways following across, then again lengthways and so up to the necessary height. For such turret it is enough on 3-4 logs among.
4. If the woodpile is big, then drive two stakes from each party. After firewood is laid, pull together all four stakes with rope in two-three places.
5. Lay firewood. Put the most equal logs in the bottom, and all others are farther. Put firewood very accurately, densely pressing, to each other. It is important because over time firewood dries out and if the woodpile has been collected inaccurately, it can collapse.
6. There is one more way of laying of firewood — so-called well. Put the first row of logs along woodpile, the second too lengthways, but on distance from the first in 10-15 cm. Put the third and fourth ranks on the first and second, but across and at distance of 5-10 cm from each other. So put all firewood. This way is good the fact that logs are laid more steadily and air among them circulates freely. Minus of this laying is that it takes a lot of place.
7. Cover top of the put woodpile with the sheet of roofing material, old linoleum or polyethylene that the rain and snow did not wet firewood.
