The window is exposed to constant negative impact both outside, and indoors: precipitation, temperature drops, humidity or dryness and many other things. Therefore materials for painting and processing of frame have to correspond to conditions. Work has to be performed accurately and without haste.
It is required to you
- - scraper;
- - putty for tree;
- - abrasive paper;
- - thixotropic (jellylike) priming paint;
- - painting tape;
- - antiseptic impregnation for tree;
- - alkyd and acrylic paints.
Instruction
1. For a start you have to remove old paint. Make it by means of scraper. Now putty all formed cracks and dimples special putty on tree. Wait when it dries (approximately in hour or two), and level surface abrasive paper.
2. Remove all formed sanding dust the vacuum cleaner and damp rag. Ground frame special jellylike (thixotropic) priming paint. Thanks to such primer the surface will become plain and smooth that considerably will facilitate process of painting of frame and will improve exterior.
3. Let's primer dry completely, usually on it 24 hours leave. If at your window there is rust from metal parts, try to remove it completely. Process all elements subject to rust (fixture, nails, etc.) special primer. Only after that it is possible to pass to painting.
4. Clean surface from all dust and hairs, otherwise they will spoil exterior of the painted frame. Try to repair your window (if it needs it) before painting.
5. Previously paste over edges of glass with painting tape. But so that between adhesive tape and frame there were about two millimeters. It will allow paint to close all slots between frame and glass that is important for improvement of thermal insulation.
6. The frame before further work has to be completely clean and dry, its humidity has to be no more than 20%. Choose for painting a little cloudy and warm day, without the strong wind bearing dust. Temperature have to be not lower than +5 'With, and air humidity is not higher than 80%.
7. Process external part of frame antiseptic impregnation for tree. For painting of internal part of window use alkyd paint with oil addition. It is rather strong and elastic therefore is suitable for processing of wooden window frame.
8. Paint external part of frame with acrylic exterior paint. Acrylic will not hide texture of tree that will add additional decorative effect. The windowsill should be painted with alkyd paint, only stronger. Try to paint over even the most hard-to-reach spots. Remove painting tape right after painting.
