The inductor coil is the device capable to reserve electrical energy in magnetic field. Such coils in various selection chains and the smoothing filters are used. At production of inductor coils it must be kept in mind that their electric characteristics are defined by number of rounds of winding, material properties of magnetic conductor and its configuration.

Instruction
1. Define type of the coil which you intend to manufacture. Depending on terms of use and design of the inductor coil are divided into low-frequency and high-frequency. For the low frequency coil you will need to make magnetic conductor (core) of steel plates. In high frequency coils the core or is not used at all, or it is made of non-magnetic material. Such core allows to change its inductance without change of coil turns.
2. Pick up wire for winding of the coil. As a rule, in coils of both types the copper wire of various section is used (copper has small resistance). Pick up wire in the corresponding isolation, depending on assignment of the coil (most often preference should be given to enamel isolation). The coils used in high-frequency part of short-wave range for decrease in losses reel up bare wire. For winding of the coils of the increased good quality used, for example, in narrow-band filters use the multicore wire consisting of several enamel-insulated wires twisted together.
3. Determine diameter of wire to evaluate possibility of its application in the coil. In the absence of micrometer reel up several dozen rounds of wire on pencil or other suitable rod (densely, round to round), and then measure by ruler the total length of winding and separate into quantity of rounds. The more and winding, the more precisely result of measurement is more dense than rounds.
4. Make coil framework. In house conditions when designing the self-made equipment the framework can be made of paper, plexiglass, cardboard. Make frameworks, small by the sizes, of film with which previously it is necessary to remove emulsion. For rigidity use several layers of film. Make framework cheeks of the same film, having pasted them celluloid glue.
5. If you make the planimetric coil of the receiver, place it in the screen for protection against external electromagnetic fields. For production of the screen use sheet copper or aluminum. Diameter of the screen make more than diameter of the coil approximately three times.
6. You make winding of wire on the coil manually or on the special winding machine (depending on type of framework and the core). The coil executed on the ring ferrite core is reeled up by means of special adaptation (shuttle).
7. If there is need of soldering of the enameled wire, in the beginning remove enamel. It is easy to make it, having taken wire in flame of the burning match, having smoothed out sharp knife or having wiped wire with the cotton wool, the wetted in acetone.
